Why Some Chapters Must End Before New Ones Begin

Why Some Chapters Must End Before New Ones Begin

Life is filled with chapters. Some bring joy, growth, and unforgettable memories. Others bring pain, disappointment, and lessons we never expected to learn. Yet many of us struggle to turn the page when a chapter comes to an end.

We hold on to relationships that no longer nurture us. We replay past mistakes. We cling to seasons that God has already called us to leave behind. The familiar often feels safer than the unknown.

But growth rarely happens when we remain stuck in yesterday.

Sometimes God closes a door because He is preparing us for a greater purpose. Sometimes a season ends because its assignment has been fulfilled. What feels like a loss today may actually be making room for something better tomorrow.

Learning to release the past is not about forgetting. It is about trusting. Trusting that God can redeem every painful experience. Trusting that He can use every setback for good. Trusting that the next chapter is already being written by hands far wiser than our own.

If you are standing at the end of a difficult season, remember this: an ending is not the same as failure. It may simply be the beginning of something new.

Turn the page with faith.

The story is not over.
